Talons

My extremities felt the bite of cold this morning and I endured. Cycling is ingrained and unavoidable because I consider no other method of transportation superior. My commute must be this way and many benefits have occurred because I have made and will continue to make this choice.

Eggs

With all the swirling colors, ideas, emotions and terminology that I could talk about. Tonight, I came across the idea of an egg and an embryonic idea that needs a lot of nourishment before it cam emerge and sustain itself. The shape of an egg is also strong and can be thin. I have seen many eggs from an ostrich egg to those laid by our own pets.

Soon I hope to have happy productive chickens. I think ducks would be too much effort to keep happy. I'll start with chickens and do my best to keep them happy and healthy as they wander my yard.

Penguins

I overlooked penguins in terms of musing on flightless birds. Maybe next I will find some bald birds to share almost profane words about. What I think is cool about birds is they are so active. My pets are smart, but still prefer nourishment to spending time with their owner. Birds are genuine and consistent in that respect.

Spent a little more time watching wild birds investigate the food on the back porch. They really enjoy swooping in. Pity the cats have noticed as well.

Gosling

Eight months ago today. She learns so much and has a sweet, sensitive disposition. I love my daughter so much. The looks on her face are inscribed deeply within me and fill me with so much wonderment. The time has passed all too rapidly.

Angry Birds

This addictive little puzzle game has sucked me in. I am spending a great deal of time trying to get revenge against pigs! I wonder what the next widely popular app will be for me. It is addictive to see destruction and the mechanics are simple and complex without absorbing all your time to learn it. It is a hit for these reasons and more. I shall be wracking up the hours and hours with this one.

Rhea

Large, flightless birds for some reason are creatures I identify. They embody a functional misfit that is too eerily similar to my life. A bird that does not fly is just as much a bird, but I wonder if they have a complex when they see other birds soar.

Cockatiels

I had aspirations of blogging daily and making genuine insightful comments about our current family pets. The moment has passed. I do have some attachment to the little grey bird in this house. These birds live a long time, are highly intelligent and affectionate.

Without enough attention they have been a little bit out of sorts. Birds are extremely rewarding as pets and particularly were therapeutic for me last year. A downside is the squawking and the attitude. I did not realize how much I was fascinated by birds and I will be writing a lot more about them.

I have a lot of terminology to learn about birds and will take on chickens in my home in 2011.
